How it works
Three things, all in your pocket.
Set it up once, on a good day. It’s there when you need it.
- 1
Your anchors
Save the people, faith, music and goals that keep you steady, and write a message to yourself on a calmer day, for a harder one.

Your trusted people
Add the people you’d want with you. Each gets a text invite and can say yes or no. They don’t need the app.

Only the people you add, and only if they said yes. Nobody else.

Questions
Good to know.
Is it free?
Yes. Ankhor is free to download and use, and the SOS texts to your people cost you nothing.
Does it work without data?
Your anchors, safety plan, calm-down tools and helplines work offline. Sending SOS through Ankhor needs a connection; if you have none, Ankhor opens your phone’s own text and call apps with your people ready, at your normal SMS rate.
What happens when I press SOS?
You get 5 seconds to cancel in case it was a mistake. Then Ankhor texts your trusted people, all at once or one after another, as you chose. Each can tap “I’m on it” or “Can’t reach them”, and if someone doesn’t answer or can’t reach you, Ankhor alerts the next person. You can see who’s on it in the app.
Who can see my information?
Only you can see your check-ins, safety plan, anchors and message to yourself: they stay on your phone. Ankhor’s staff never see them. Your trusted people’s names and numbers are kept on Ankhor’s server only so we can text them.
Who can use Ankhor?
Anyone aged 18 or older. Younger people can still reach the helplines in the app at any time.
Ready when you are.
Ankhor is free for Android phones. Google Play and iPhone are coming later.
